Summary: Ancinere stores your watch diary locally on your device. We do not operate user accounts and do not upload your personal records to our servers. The App may show optional ads through IronSource; ad partners may collect device and advertising-related data as described below.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Ancinere ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our personal watch diary application for iOS. By using Ancinere, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly. All content you create in Ancinere — including record titles, ratings, reviews, notes, tags, dates, photos, and video clips — is stored locally on your device. We do not receive or store this content on our servers.
Information stored on your device. Ancinere uses local database storage (Realm) on your device to save your records. Optional App Lock credentials are stored securely on your device using the iOS Keychain.
Information we do not collect. Ancinere does not require account registration. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or precise location through the App itself.
3. Device Permissions
Ancinere may request the following permissions only when you use related features:
- Camera — to take photos for record covers or record short highlight video clips when you choose the Camera option.
- Microphone — to capture audio when you record a highlight video clip with the camera.
- Photo Library (Read) — to select photos or videos for record covers, attached memories, or highlight clips, and to display photos you previously linked to records.
- Photo Library (Add Only) — to save share cards or year-in-review images to your photo library when you explicitly choose to save or share to Photos.
- App Tracking Transparency (ATT) — on supported iOS versions, the App may ask whether it can track your activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising measurement and personalization. You can allow or deny this request; denying limits use of the advertising identifier but does not affect core diary features.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Revoking permissions may limit related features but will not delete your existing local records.
4. Advertising (IronSource)
The App uses the IronSource advertising SDK to display ads. IronSource and its advertising partners may collect device and usage information (such as device model, OS version, language, IP address, app version, ad interaction data, and advertising identifiers where permitted) to deliver, measure, and improve ads.
Your personal diary content is not shared with ad networks for advertising purposes. For details on IronSource's practices, see:
For more information, see IronSource's privacy resources:
5. Third-Party Services
TMDB (The Movie Database). When you voluntarily use "TMDB Search" while adding a record, the App sends your search query to TMDB's API to retrieve title and metadata (such as release year and poster image URL). TMDB's use of data is governed by their own privacy policy. Ancinere does not send your personal diary content to TMDB.
TMDB poster images. Poster images loaded from TMDB are cached locally for display purposes. TMDB attribution is provided within the App.
Realm SDK. Ancinere uses the Realm database SDK for local data storage. Anonymous SDK analytics are disabled in our configuration.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your watch diary data is stored exclusively on your device. Ancinere offers JSON export and import features so you can back up or transfer your records at your discretion. We recommend keeping regular backups of exported files.
When App Lock is enabled, a passcode you set is hashed and stored on your device. We cannot recover your passcode.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal diary information. Your watch records are shared only when you explicitly use the App's share features (e.g., sharing a record card or year-in-review image via the iOS share sheet).
Advertising data may be shared between IronSource and its ad partners strictly for ad delivery, attribution, fraud prevention, and aggregated analytics, as described in Section 4 and in those partners' own privacy policies.
8. Children's Privacy
Ancinere is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will assist in addressing the concern.
9. Your Rights & Choices
- Delete individual records or all data within the App at any time.
- Export your data as a JSON backup file from the Profile tab.
- Disable App Lock or revoke device permissions in iOS Settings.
- Manage ad tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data from your device.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
